My Evangelization of Oedipus

The greatest thing that stands out to me is, punishment for sin. Oedipus murders his father and sleeps with his mother, both horrible sins. Just as we sin, and would be punished for it, so is Oedipus. The key difference being that we have Christ as our Saviour while he does not. Another key occurance that I noticed within Oedipus is his pride. The reason that Oedipus kills his father is because he was made to get out of his way, something that wounded Oedipus' pride. As C.S. Lewis states, pride is the greatest sin, and in this case it is. If it weren't for Oedipus' pride in being made to leave the road, he might not have killed his father.
